Bio:
Sidra Goldman-Mellor is a psychiatric epidemiologist whose research focuses on understanding how to predict, prevent, and conduct public health surveillance of mental health problems, especially suicidal behavior. She is also interested in how mental health and substance use problems affect risk of other adverse outcomes, including health care utilization, morbidity, and premature mortality. Her work illustrates the role that psychiatric illness and inadequate access to mental health care can play in augmenting racial/ethnic and socioeconomic health disparities.
